Global Meter Reader (GMR)

A software component that—along with database (DB) and Middle Tier (MT)—is part of Advanced Metering Manager (AMM) application and is responsible for managing network related jobs including meter reading, ping, and meter programs. On startup, the GMR reads meter information from the master database and then manages all of the meter related jobs through NICNAC commands that interrogate and configure the NICs.
